Hexa tuning problem

Hi

I'm trying to tune my Hexa (4 crashes later) and I have hit a brick wall. I have the PIDs set extremely low, to the point where it becomes difficult to keep stable, but seconds after I lift off, the copter gets "angry" at me and while trying to stabilize, it violently shoots up into the air (10m) - crazy stuff. I have 790kv motors spinning 14" prop - so there could be too much power (If there is such a thing). My hover point is at 35% (I think)

Version 2.9.1b

RateP 2.2

RateI 0.1

Rate D 0.002

StabP 0.1

Any help or guidance please.

Thanks

Thank you Andrew, I rebalanced the motors and props today because my log did show bad vibrations. I let the hexa get away from me and it shot up very high and I totalled it :(

But thanks for the PIDs, I'm sure I'll use them in my next attempt (possibly with less power)
  • I took a look at my rates and realized your Rate P is way to high it should be in the .10 or .09 ish and your Stab P is too low it should be in 3.5 to 4.5 range. Basically you have you Rate P and Stab P reversed.  With bigger props you need lower Rate P Here is my P rates for a Hex with 11x6 props. 3691017042?profile=original
