good day! thanks admin for accepting my membership here at DIYdrones. im in the military here in the Philippines. i joined this site mainly because i want to learn how to build drones specifically for work purposes. I'm a complete newbie to this field but i saw the great potential of UAV specifically for surveillance and recon in my far flung AO. im covering a vast coastal area part of mindanao, philippines(might heard it in CNN before) but my water crafts and men are only limited. terrorism and piracy are my biggest concern and i know it is a great task at hand. i decided that having a UAV will greatly enhance my unit's capability with regards to surveillance and aerial patrols.
since im a complete newbie, i decided to start my own training(during my free time) using a quadcopter. just to be acquainted with the controllers and aerial movements although my long term goal is to have a fixed wing long range UAV. as of now i owned a 2 budget quadcopters (hubsan and syma) and i ordered a phoenix simulator with fsi6 controller. this will be my tools in order to prepare myself to build the needed muscle memory in controlling a UAV. aside from that, im also doing some readings and research on the possible/ effective air frame and the payloads to be installed for the task at hand. I'm humbly asking for a constructive comments or suggestions from the members and to those who have already made their successful build of UAV.
this effort will be sourced out from my own pockets and i don't think that the military will fund me in making this. maybe not until i finished building it and on operational status.
I appreciate your time and effort for reading my post guys. I have high hopes that this project will be accomplished with the help coming from you.
thanks!
