Hi all,I deferred admission to the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences in order to take an engineering internship and to travel the world by bicycle. Due to an ocean diving accident (resulting in a broken C5 vertebra), my doctor has advised me to remain close to home while I heal. Therefore I am looking for an engineering internship in the New York City area, or one that can be pursued remotely. While pay would, of course, be appreciated, it is not essential.I have completed a number of projects involving EE and circuit design, programming (mostly in VB6), and some mechanical engineering. I can supply a writeup of one of my bigger projects - a remote-controlled video filming device similar to the CamCat, with side-to-side motion, pan, tilt, and zoom. I can also supply a CV to those who are interested, just leave me a reply with some contact info.My main interests are in: autonomous systems, especially autonomous airplanes; robotics, and control systems; creating systems that allow people to work most efficiently - both through gadgetry and through workflow – (filing protocols, ergonomics, information access, etc.); and environmental stewardship.I would really appreciate any leads on relevant internships in the vicinity of New York City, or ones that could be done at a distance! Thanks in advance!
