Hello Arducopter fans!,
I am working on a project to enhance outdoor SLAM techniques with my Arducopter. In order to do that I need to mount a Hokuyo Lidar on the UAV. Payload wise I dont think there should be any problems since the laser weighs around 200g max. However I am concerned about stability issues, vibration and data rate etc. Could I ask if anyone has done this before? Or for that matter any sophisticated LiDar on an Arducopter?
Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks
Ammar

I dont know how LIdar performs under vibration, but I would imagine that it will be fine, as many universities have done Lidar with the astech quadcopters. You will probably have to interface it with another controller to process all the data points, and SLAM stuff, or just use a pair of xbee modules send commands to APM?
Anyone? Any Idea? Anything about lasers and arducopters?
Really need some help.
Thank you!
