How good is auto landing?

I've got a flat area that is 10 meters wide by 15 meters long. With just a GPS and no magneto or airspeed sensor, is it capable of landing in that size of an area? I would set the previous WP directly in line so that it has a straight approach.

Would a magneto and airspeed sensor make a big difference in auto landing?

I'm using a skywalker with latest version on APM.

Auto landing ability is limited by your airframe and planning.  To land in the area you specify you will need an airframe that can fly slowly and have a fast decent rate.  Beyond that it is a matter of properly planning your mission.  There is no fancy planning that goes on with auto landing.  You have to pick proper waypoint locations and altitudes for the waypoints preceding the landing for it to work correctly.

  • Are you using an airspeed sensor or magneto?

  • It ould probably be wise to test in a bigger area first. I tried it and I needed a lot more space than I anticipated.
