How robust IS the Ardupilot Mega?

I am currently flying a "50cc' trainer with my APM. Initially it had a gasser engine in it, but we found that on the ground everything worked ok, but in the air everything went wrong. when we looked at the raw sensor data, it seemned that the lines all moved around as expected when you move the plane, but when you start the motor, the sensors all flatline. we assumed the problem to be excessive vibration.

Recently someone said to me that the problem may not be vibrration at all, but emf and electrical noise from  the motor's ignition system.

Any thoughts on this? Anyone else out there using a gas engine on their UAV? what did you do for EMF shielding and vibration protection.

More likely to be vibration causing a marginal solder connection to fail. If you have a second IMU shield, try that. If not, you might want to send it back to the factory for a reflow.
