Hello, I need help, I am trying to figure it out where can I modify the code to select only auto mode, without RC equipment. And also, after selecting Auto mode, where Arducopter reads his Waypoints and other mission stuff.

I am trying to control my octa_quad copter only through xbee (serial port 3).

Thanks,

Oh! you know what? I think I'm misunderstanding you. I think, if you only want it to always go to mode Auto, you don't need any code changes at all.... at least as far as mode selection goes. Just go into Mission Planner and set all six modes to auto in the drop down boxes. But the overall system is not meant to fly w/o any RC control, and I've never tried it or thought about what problems you might have w/o calibrating the radio. For example, you need to find a solution to arming the motors, take off and landing (problematic because the main near-distance detector, the sonar, goes "blind" inside of 6", so attempts to land automatically sometimes result in dropping at 6" or other things like that. In any case, it is way beyond me, I've never thought about it or tried. I sort of think it is dangerous to not have any RC link to take over.

You can change modes via MAVLink in the Mission Planner. No need to touch the code.
