Hi,

I'm trying to setup my turnigy 9x with stock firmware to send 8 channels to the APM2 and I was trying to understand how it works.

In the configuration I can assign to the AUX channels, ch 5 to ch 9 from the output of the following switches and potentiometers:

  • GEAR (2 pos switch)
  • THRO HOLD (2 posswitch)
  • HOV THRO (pot)
  • PIT TRIM (pot)
  • HOV PIT (pot)

But I'd like to be able to use also the other switches because I only need one continuous channel, but I cannot find a way to assign the other switches available on the radio:

  • AIL (2 posswitch)
  • ELE (2 posswitch)
  • RUD (2 posswitch)
  • Flight mode (3 pos switch)
  • TRN (momentary switch)

Is there a way to do so? Or should I upgrade to a different firmware?

I'm pretty newbie on programmable RC TX... if they cannot be assigned, what are they used for?

Thank you

Simone

  • Sorry for the late reply,

but would anyone be able to help a Newbie here on how to possibly setup using stock firmware a turnigy 9XR w/ frisky XJT module and frsky X8R receiver into a pixhawk via sbus(X8R) to pixhawk RC.

Goal is to arrange a basic setup as to actually be able to control my 3dr diy Y6 kit. As I'm looking at potential applications in biological research for post graduate work. Mainly interested in potential autonomous functions.

All binding was successful and 9XR calibration seems to have worked properly, but upon calibration in apm planner there is zero functionality thus receiving max 1500 values only.

I"m also very unfamiliar with the initial setup of the 9XR for which the Y6 would require.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks in advance.

  • Have you looked into flashing to er9x?  I found it very configurable.  I wish I could offer help with the stock firmware, but I didn't use it long until I upgraded.  It is worth it, and if you do I can help you setup the switches.

When I was trying to config the er9x firmware I found it a little confusing.  There were a lot of youtube videos that I found helpful.  Maybe have a look there.

Also I used the smartieparts board to upgrade my firmware.  I can assure you if that is the route you want to go it is very simple.

    Good luck
