I'm connecting via USB. And I'm making sure that I attempt connection within the first 20 seconds of the APM powering up (I heard that was a requirement).

My baud rate is the 115200, and in the full parameters list, my USB baud rate is 115

I'm just trying to run a compass test, cause I'm on my second compass from 3DR, and the APM still doesn't know which way is north. :-\

  • Do you have a mavlink hooked up. If you do unplug it.
    • Same thing.

I'm using ArduPilot 3.2. Which I heard removed the Terminal.
So.. I wonder how do I do a compass test now? haha

      • Terminal is still in the new mission planner you just have to enable it
        • I can get to the terminals in both apm planner and mission planner. But even after disconnecting the telemetry radio, I still get the garbage output.

          • Can you see the parameters in mission planner with the telemetry.
            • yup

              • Why not load 3.1.5 firmware
            • Do you have this in a plane.
  • Just pinging people's email again. I think I'm almost out of warranty on my system, and I like to figure out the cause.

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 for APM Planner and Windows 7 via VirtualBox for Mission Planner.
