Hi,I plan on conducting weather balloon experiments where there is a high chance the payload will be lost. I don't really need to retrieve the payload I just need to get the video footage from the onboard camera. I know the camera will go through a black out zone for cell signals. What I want is for the camera to record the footage in the black out zone and automatically upload the footage to the cloud once it falls back down and cellular signal is available. I would prefer to use an ipod with a special app to record but using a camera is fine.

Sounds like this would be perfect for a cheap pre-paid android phone. I use to hang out in the Android developer forums. There is always programmers for hire there that would build you a custom app. Probably for nothing more than credit/bragging rights!
