Input and Output rail power

I have apm2.5 running arduplane.  still just toying around with getting the wiring and setup down before installing into a plane.  i have bec to rx then rx to apm2.5,  2.5 to servos and esc.  Connect lipo and rx powers on, apm2.5 gps and 3dr radio power on.  no servo power but motor powers up with throttle.  here comes the question.  Can i double female from rx to output rail also or should i solder pigtail from bec, or do i need separate bec for output rail? I would prefer to use a single lipo.

  • I have jp1 connected. The esc doesn't have a bec. Should I move the bec from the rx to the in rail? Guess I will need another bec for out rail, or can I split a less from the same bec? Sorry soooo many questions, just getting into this stuff. Thanks for the fast reply.

Do you have JP1 installed or not? You can power your board by connecting a BEC to the Inputs, and then it would power the RX and APM with JP1 removed. The ESCs would power the servos from the ESCs internal BEC.

If you want you can power the APM and RX from the ESCs internal BEC alone just by adding JP1 and removing your BEC to the inputs.
