Understanding the controversy over the commercial use of sUAVs, if a company chose to engage in the use of sUAVs, how would they procure liability insurance? In the USA. Pennsylvania to be exact.Any thoughts from this knowledgable and experienced group? Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions.

I am an aviation specific insurance broker. I work with all of the highest rated aviation insurance companies (there are currently about eleven of them). As of right now, there are three aviation insurance companies that offer policies for UAVs (AIG Aerospace, Global Aerospace, and United States Specialty Insurance Company). I can offer hull and liability coverage or liability only. These policies are for commercial operators, not pleasure only flyers. If you would like more information, please contact me at the email address below.
Knowing this post is from almost a year ago, I wanted to see what you were able to find out and if you had any issues obtaining coverage? Commercial insurance for drones is something that carriers are writing under an aviation package. If you were able to secure coverage, great! I would be more than happy to assist you this year to check pricing options as a lot has changed in this market over the last year. If you are still looking for coverage, we can set up a phone call in the next week to discuss what your current exposures are to see if we will be a good fit for each other.
