Internship

I'm a Sophomore at the University of North Dakota working on a bachelors in unmanned aircraft systems. I have almost all my ratings (private, instrument, commercial, and multi-engine). I would like to get an internship this summer. If anyone has any suggestions with any companies or know any companies looking for interns please respond!

  • A degree in unmanned aircraft systems sounds pretty awesome. This is the right time to start looking. There are a lot of intern opportunities at NASA! I am most familiar with the LARSS program, since I work at that center. Check the web for requirements and deadlines.

Also, if you are not doing this already, you might want to take regular looks at AUVSI and Aviation Week and look at the relevant articles and for advertisers and sponsors who are doing work that interests you. Contact them with a professional letter or a phone call. If the people doing that work have published papers, you might try reading the paper and contacting an author directly concerning the topic that caught your interest, asking if they have, or know of, opportunities. People are usually pretty flattered if someone contacts them, already knows something about their work, and asks, "How do I get a job doing what you do?" Usually, they will actually give some thought as to how they might help you. Good luck!
