I live in New York and I'm looking to build a quad-copter mostly for fun but am also interested in its commercial use. Is it legal/practical to make a drone at home for commercial photography?

Yes its perfectly possible to make a quad, its only 2 sticks and 4 motors. Legality of commercial use in NY thats a different thing. Best you hit G oogle.
lol not a very informative reply but thank you. I'm wondering if using a homemade quad-copter for commercial use is generally acceptable. And if making one at home vs buying a rtf would be cost effective.
Will keep looking through google regarding legality but i would appreciate some input from personal experience
