Hi,

although this is not much drone related I though this is probably the best forum to post it as some of you might explore this possibility before.

I am thinking about possibility to convert two Arduinos with Zigbee and GPS into DGPS "set" (base and rover). Maybe it is stupid maybe it is possible :-D

According to this thread it might be possible:

I already have multiple Arduino boards with GPS modules and ZigBee shields and my idea is to have two simple boxes with just on/off switch and some display or just LED indicator. After getting to the monitoring area the user would switch both boxes on, put box marked "BASE" on tripod or just could be mounted in a car (have plastic composite roof), wait until both boxes light green as ready and then started to work in terrain while carrying the "ROVER" box - for example in backpack. After completing the work he would just switch both boxes off and drive home (while the data would be automatically saved for example on SD card).

Is this possible? I know I cannot expect precision comparable with Topconn or Trimple machines but it could be maybe better than common GPS.

What do you think?

thanks
