There are a lot of videos of well build and tuned quads out there.
There are a lot of videos of quads failing to take off or crashing.
Has anyone seen a video that shows the process of tuning a quad from start to finish?
The reason I ask is that I can build quads and they fly but the tuning part still eludes me.
I have read the tweaking and troubleshooting pages on the Wiki but I’m still having problems.
In my case, my homemade quad is reasonably stable but hard to keep in one spot in all 3 axes. According to Chris, expo should not be used so I have taken it off. (My next problem could be related to this one as my throttle_trim varies from 250 to 550 when read after flights.)
I also can’t get altitude hold to work properly. If I do get it working during one flight, it’s not working on the next. I disarm the quad at the end of the flights to save settings but after changing the battery, it’s like starting all over again. (It’s a 1280 board at the moment, so no logs)
I am sure there are others like me with tuning problems that could benefit from a tutorial video.
Has anyone seen one?

Yes there is! See these PID tuning how-to videos.
