I run almost exclusively with 4S 5000 batteries, and it does well. It's not a sport quad, but flies fine. Flight time is typically 12-15 minutes.
I have used 2x 4S 5000, two batteries in parallel, for extended flight times. It's heavy, you can feel it, but again, it does fly fine. This is what I did for the T3 Cube competition where I flew for 24 minutes.
If you're using the 3D Robotics quadcopter around 5,000 mAh is the upper limit, maybe less depending on your specific configuration. With a battery that heavy it would affect handling.
