I am researching cameras for low alt. aerial photography. I don't know all that much about cameras, the end product is more my thing....anyway, I have been told there are 3 musts:
1. small focal length
2. fast shutter speed
3. image stabilizer
I believe that's in order of importance...we fly between 250-500 feet and we want something cheap for testing.
So has anybody got recommendations for something I can go pick up at Wally World?

I have four cameras in transit, including two sony cybershot models. I intend to evaluate and tinker with them to see how they might meet my needs. Besides in the forums, do you know of other resources (wiki, spreadsheets, how-to's, build docs, etc) that capture tips/observations on the adaptation of various point and shoot models for UAV/Aerial Imagery? I ask so that I can add my findings to whatever existing data people may be referencing.
brakar, what kind of footprint/photo size are you getting with the Ixus at 400 feet? Can you take multiple shots per second without compromising picture quality.
We're doing aerial photography for a quarry. Lots of relief in the terrain (WV).
