Low voltage alarm

This may be a simple question. I have a low voltage alarm that looks like it plugs into my lipo tap. But I see videos of guys soldering them directly to the esc. Is that right? Or is it meant to be plugged into tap?

  • By using the balance port for the alarm, it can alert you if a single cell fails. If you use the voltage at the ESC the alarm would be delayed until the sum of all batteries drops below the threshold.
    • Thanks for the reply. However I am still confused. While flying, would you solder to your esc, or plug into the tap? Thanks.
      • If by "tap" you mean balance port, then yes you just plug it in there. No soldering. Maybe you are talking about something totally different and I am misunderstanding you. Provide a photo to be sure.
        • im sorry i meant balance port. the you tube channel referred to it as a tap. thank you very much!
