Maestro won't conect to Mission planer

Ok, so I do believe that I have followed everything as to what to do to set up the tracker as per here

http://vps.oborne.me/gcs/Tracker.html

and when I decided to connect from mission planer I get this message  (Bad user input, Input string was not in a correct format)  tried both ports and all the different baud rates..

I don't know, I'm lost please help

thanks Jesse

  • Bad user input, Input string was not in a correct format

So I did some research on this Error and this appears to be a code error. So I tried to reload the firmware and went through all the Steps on  my Maestro with 0 results. Grrrrrrrr!!! Do I have a bad Maestro? Has anyone ever had this error?

Michael thanks for chiming in. on my matter..

    • Developer

bad input string means you entered an invalid number in one of the box's

      • ok so this is what I have

        Pan angle 180 , PWM range is 349.25 , center is 1480

        Tilt   angle 90 , PMW range is 528 , Center is 1424

trim is set to 0 on both and

Maestro is selected at com 17 with baud 9600

        • Developer

remove the .25 from pwm range.

          • Michael thank you so much you were correct the decimal number was not allowed to be inserted in the MP.
Got any good threads on setup and use. I've been testing the tracker using telemetry files and it doe sent seem to be to accurate (it's a bit hard to explain)
I'm wondering if I need to set my zero position mechanical closer to 1500 PMW. Or will that make any difference.
Also while testing the tracker it seems that Tilt stays at a 45 degree when the aircraft is setting on the ground.
  • Also the maestro serial is set to USB Dual port
  • Humm.. no answers am I in the wrong form?

    • Developer

make sure you select the correct comport

      • Yes I conformed that I'm on the correct com port as I checked through device manager there are 2 com ports that state maestro. One com17 is controller command port and the other is com16 controller TTL port

Doe sent seem to make a difference either way.
  • just wondering, does the Maestro control center need to be running as well as the mission planer?
