I have an original jdrones build with the magnetometer with cable. If I want to use method 1 by taking out cable and putting directly on board with pins do I need to change any settings in the magnetometer or apm? Or is it straight forward pull plug out, solder pins, and plug?Thanks, I believe this will increase the accuracy as opposed to the cable mourning with tape method. I'm always having to trim!

If you solder the mag shown in the manual (pins forward components down) you don't need to change anything.
