Magnometer/compass configuration

With Arducopter 2 do I no longer need to select the magnometer's orientation anymore?


What about the spinning the copter in all different directions to calibrate the copter?  Is that no longer required either?

    If your magnetometer is attached the recommended way (soldered to the IMU board or otherwise placed pins forward, components down), you don't need to do anything. If for some reason you decided to mount it differently (not sure why anyone would), you'll need to use Arduino to load the code and specify the configuration in the APM_Config.h file.

    Mag calibration is now automatically done in flight. It takes a couple minutes.
