I'm trying to put the APM2.5 with a Microhard n920 (modem) so that I can fly the quad only with the ground station on a tablet PC, without an RC controller.
Has anyone done this before? Or help me with what needs to be done.

With just altitude adjust, Return-to-home, and auto landing functions coupled with waypoints. Wouldn't that be safe enough.
Similar to the Aeryon scout.
Do you think flying your copter just with a tablet will make you able to control it safely?
It's a great thing to use a mobile tablet with the telemetry to see waypoints and stuff, but flying with a tablet a wouldn't do. The copter is just too expensive to play it like a game.
