Mavproxy socket

Hello Drone Geniuses,

I'm trying to get MavProxy to communicate with a C++ program I've written. Is it possible to get MavProxy to receive commands and produce output over a network socket? If not, what's the easiest way to accomplish this? I've been googling around, and thus far I've not found much other than "write your own thing in Python." Any tips are much appreciated!
