Minimosd being badly affected by power ripple

I'm trying to debug my minimosd thats being massively affected by my single battery setup. Everything looks great until I arm my quad. Usually I loose the OSD right then, then as I power up the throttle I get big glitches till I loose the video feed completely. I have figured out this is all due to my OSD and what I assume is some kinda ground loop. My setup is a single 4s battery. I have 5v power coming from the telemetry port of my APM, ground to gnd or blk (tried both no difference), and RX. I have my pads soldered to deliver 5v to the other side of the board. On that side I have vtx to vout, and ground to vtx ground. From the gopro camera I have Video in to Vin, and ground to the mini usb ground on the gopro. Here is a video of what I am experiencing. If anyone can give me some advice without going to a separate video battery that would be great! Thanks.

  • Yup that solved it. I didn't expect that the 5v out from the APM would be so dirty. Tapping the 5v off my 5v ubec completely solved my issue. Thanks.

  • Voltage regulators between the Lipo and the video kit should filter out the noise affecting the video quality. Alternatively, powering the video kit with a low noise. high quality UBEC, should also do the trick
