Guys I gotta question regarding prop setup. I am wondering the minimum distance that should be between the props on a hexacopter. I'm using 12" props and I'm trying to make things as tight as possible for storing and transporting the unit. Any wisdom here?

Hi.
Look instead at the max amp draw for your motors and what your esc's are capable to handle. The distance between the props are not an issue (if you are looking away from serious propwash calculations), as long the props not crasch togheter :')
