Mission altitude planning glitch

Hi Guys,

First of all Merry Christmas to all!

I went out to fly today and loaded a mission using APM Planer 1.1.12

I ran into an altitude glitch.  The flight plan called for a default absolute altitude of 50m and the same for the first few waypoints of a mission.  I loaded the flight plan and re-read the flight plan from EEPROM to double check everything.

The plane launched fine, but instead of climbing to 50 meters, it kept going passed that to about 150m above launch point.  It stayed at that altitude in both RTL and AUTO mode.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

PS:  Attached is the tlog file of that flight

    Hi Rigel,

What happened is that you loaded a saved parameter set after booting and that parameter set contains the GND_ABS_PRESS to a pressure from a previous day. That changed your barometer offset to a pressure for a different day, which added 100m to the altitude.

Michael is looking at changing the planner to avoid loading that value from file, but meanwhile you can avoid this bug by doing a reset of the APM after loading a parameter set.

    Cheers, Tridge

Rigel, at the start of the flight you loaded a param file? what did you use to load it?
