Mission Planner drops connection

Hi,

I am having a bit of trouble with APM 2.5 and MP 1.2.51 (I upgraded from 1.2.50 this afternoon). Yesterday I took my new APM 2.5 out of the box and loaded Arduplane 2.73 firmware. Everything worked great. I could connect and disconnect without any problems.

Today I decided to change some settings, but could not because the connection between APM and MP was dropped right after downloading the parameters. Also, the "Connect" button changes from connect-->disconnect-->connect and no live data is sent. If I try to reconnect I get a "The port is closed" message and that's it. Also, the TX LED on APM will stay solid after that.

I need to reboot both APM and MP for another connection attempt. APM itself seems responsive, because if I click on the Connect button or the Terminal tab then APM will reboot and flash it's LEDs until the TX LED turns solid again, but MP will still claim that the port is closed.

I'm running windows XP. All settings are default. I haven't had MP installed on this computer before. Nothing else is connected to the APM. I've even tried using a powered USB hub to rule out any power issues.

Any suggestions?

  • I got the same problem last week.I found what cause the problem is not drives, not the windows, but the configuration of MP.  There:CONFIG/TUNING--->Planner--->Speech,disable the speech, then MP connect APM well.
