Sorry, my first ever post.

This is what I get in place of the GUI. I can open it and get the outline frame of the GUI and the top-row icons but then the whole thing freezes and I have to give it the 3-finger salute.

HP laptop, Windows 7, .net 4 and all the other good stuff.

I'm sure some of you folks have a cure.

BTW MP works fine on my other machine.

    A TypeInitializationException relates to the .NET Framework

    Do you have the latest .Net installed?

    change your screen resolution and colour depth.

    or install a newer graphics card driver.
