I have an android phone with the IP Camera app for testing out an IP camera in mission planner. The IP Camera app works great in VLC with only about 200ms latency over my home WiFi. The next step was to stream it into mission planner so it could overlay the HUD.
Mission planner doesn't do anything after I open the camera stream directly so I tried to use VLC. I kind of got it working with VLC. Mission planner opens the MJPEG stream that VLC is transcoding but only displays a blank white screen in the HUD section. (screenshot attached)
This is where my problem lies, does anyone know why mission planner is displaying a blank white image, while the VLC "Local Play" proves that the stream is working fine? My Lenovo X230 has a quad core i5 and 8 GB RAM so I doubt that's the issue.

I think that I have actually solved this problem and found a bug in mission planner.
To reproduce the white screen problem I start mission planner, then start the VLC stream, then right click and set the MJPEG source. What solves this problem is, I start the VLC stream, then mission planner, then right click and set the MJPEG source. Hope this helps someone!
