I got my APM three weeks ago. I assembled it and started with setup and test step by step as the instructions manual. Every thing looks fine except the radio inputs.

First I run the demos. The dancing demo works fine, all eight outputs works as the video. But the reading channels demo doesn’t works at all.

I went directly to ArduPilotMega firmware. Downloaded last version; APM Beta 1.0 from October 03th. IMU Test as GPS, Speed sensor, Static pressure, EEPROM works OK. But radio input channels doesn’t. I went to CLI and perform “Reset to factory” and connected channel 1 to 4 from my Futaba 14 channels RX.

RxCh1 to InpCh1 make blue led speedup flashing.

RxCh2 to InpCh2 not speedup led; but RxCh2 to InpCh1 yes

RXCh3 and 4 doesn’t speed up no one of the InpCh’s

Performing “setup_radio” with all the first four channels connected give this output:

Radio Setup:

Move both sticks to each corner. Hit Enter to save: Saving:

CH1: 1101 / 1679

CH2: 1500 / 1501

CH3: 900 / 901

CH4: 1500 / 1501

CH5: 1000 / 2000

CH6: 1000 / 2000

CH7: 1000 / 2000

CH8: 1000 / 2000

It looks like only input CH1 is reading and only RxCh1 and 2 can be read.

Any idea? Should I reload the multiplexer firmware?

Thanks. Eduardo

Eduardo: it looks like you got one of the APM boards from Sparkfun where they didn't load the PPM/multiplexer firmware right. If you reload it via this process, everything should work right. Sparkfun has now fixed their code loading process, but there are still some boards out there that need to be reflashed, and unfortunately it looks like you've got one of them.
