Hi guys,
Doing a fun project to make the fastest quad I can. I am planning a very small (330 size), light (circa 1kg with FPV + APM2.5 + GPS) quad, with no requirement for long flight times or payloads, although 5 minutes is the minimum. It's all about speed.
To that end, I am looking for monster motor suggestions. The criteria is:
- 4S
- 8" CF props
- 20A max rating (I would prefer to use a 4-in-1 for weight & packaging reasons, but am open to suggestion)
Interestingly, I have a 3 phase approach to vibe control (big motors + small, rigid frame = lots of vibes), which I'll post on once I get the frame back from the CF cutters.

If you want to save weight, I do advise to use a 4 ESC in one solution. I've tried this last summer with 4S batteries and the 880KV 3DR motors, no problems.
if you want 8 inch props, you'd better look for the highest Kv motors you can find. I unfortunately am not used/familiar with that kind of motors.
And about props , are there different pitches for 8 inch props ? There is an optimum to find between small and high pitch. I do not know if Forrest maybe could help you on this one with one of his test bench analysis?
