Motor Stutter

I'm using Sunnysky 4108 480kv motors with RCTimer 30 amp SimonK ESC's.  The reason for the motor choice is it allows me to run bigger props.  My problem is motor stutter when running 15 x 5 carbon propellers. I set the quad up with 12 x 4.5 props while waiting on the 15 x 5's to arrive.  With the smaller props the motors runs flawlessly but after switching to the 15 x 5's I get motor stutter.  According to the motor spec sheet these motors are extremely efficient running the 15 x 5 props so I don't think it is an 'over-propping' problem. For some reason the ESC's do not play well with the motor prop combination.

Any thoughts?

    Thanks for the reply. 

    Sorry for resurrecting an old thread.  So changing brand of ESC fixed the problem?  Were both running the same version of SimonK?  If so, wonder what the root cause of the problem was?

    Was the stutter on startup or while the copter was running?

    Hi Billy,

    It sounds like you are running a good setup.  Did you figure out what the problem was?  Were you able to get he 15 inch props to work?
