I have the problem mentioned in the title.
When arming, all the motors spin up to high rpm immediately with no response to the position of the throttle lever.
After setting the value (mot-spin-armed) to zero, the motors does not spin anymore when arming - as desired.
But when I raise the throttle (0.1%), just touching the throttle lever, all the motors starts and spin at
high rpm. There is response to the position of the throttle lever now. But no slow speed raising possible, the "iddle" or minimum speed ist WAY to high.
I use ESC from Hobbywing. Platinum Pro, 40A (the blue ones).
The ESC are checked one by one with the program card for the same values and calibrated one by one with the throttle up- connect- throttle down- disconnect- procedure.
My ESC setting is:
1 brake = off
2 batt type = Lipo
3 cut off mode = soft
4 cut off threshold = low
5 start mode = normal
6 timing = 15 (is that medium?)
Running them one by one directly through the Rx channel 3 they start smooth and raise speed normal until the maximum.
I already set and reset, but nothing changes.
Any help to resolve this puzzle is greatly appreciated !!!!!!!!!!!! :)

thank you for writing. I just tried to calibrate with the APM2.5.
The proceedure I used: Tx on, throttle to max.
Connect the power to the board and copter.
Wait for a long beep after the esc count the cells etc.
Disconnect the Lipo without touching the Tx.
Reconnect the Lipo to the copter, after the long beep lower the throttle to zero.
:( But nothing changed....................
The ESC and motors work fine when using only the Rx.
I have a problem with the flight controller. No idea where bad setting is :(
Question to your suggestion: So should I set the batt type to NiMh and still use Lipo?
Hi Bernardo, might be time to re-run calibration of the sticks on your transmitter.
I'm curious about the Bat Type option too, I've got mine set to LiPo and suspect this is better suited for multicopters than fixed wings. Hope that Mike can respond.

I just did a new stick calibration, but without changes. >_/p>
The motors still spin up to a high speed, (could be about 50% guessing from the sound).
And there is no reaction when I move the throttle stick, they run just in one speed.
The clue must be inside the APM board, a wrong setting or so, because connected directly to the Rx all work fine as it should do.
(BTW, I use a Walkera Devo10 Tx)

Hi Bernardo, if you connect the ESC servo cable directly to one of the receiver channels can you control the throttle with the transmitter sticks? This will isolate the APM/Pixhawk board from your issue down to either the ESC or transmitter.

yes the throttle works perfect when connected directly (ESC to Rx).
All the ESC/motors behave the same, running and responding good this way.
I think my problem is a setting and/or a parameter in the APM 2.5 board.
(Or a parameter in the TX? But the Tx works normal without the APM2.5 board, btw - original and genuine from 3DR)
