"I'm having trouble with the motor test. I can not seem to get thing to behave as expected with either X or + configuration. The only configuration that works at all is X and the behavior I'm getting is this: up, down, left, right == nothing up-left = motor 2 up-right = motor 4 down-left = motor 3 down-right = motor 1 "
I have exactly the same problem. I changed even the APM with a new one (still had a first series one) but I have the same problem.
The only thing I have different to a regular Arducopter is that I'm using no-name ESC's. I cut the BEC power in order to have them in opto mode (I power the APM and receiver with an separate UBEC)

Any Idea why this happens? Maybe the use of no-brand ESC's may cause this problem.
