So I've been looking everywhere for ideas for ground statons/field boxes for FPV setups and thought I'd share what I finally came up with for myself. It was a little pricey, but not too terribly bad. I was going to fabricate one and then as I was at Lowes buying materials, I came across a toolbox that struck me and so I ran with it. I'm not new to RC aircraft, just incredibly new to the multi-rotor and fpv stuff so please don't be too critical of my work here. Would love feedback though and thoughts about how I can make it better.
On the bottom box, I mounted a 12v yacht battery (Gel cell) and wired in all my electronics, including viper battery charger, and cables for my laptop and LCD display for my receiving video. The middle drawer is setup for my batteries and accessories. The top drawer is setup for transport of laptop and lcd screen. I have my remote control mounted on the top of the case so when I open it, I can grab my remote quickly and then setup my laptop and LCD screen quickly as well. It's a completely self sufficient unit, that will stay powered for about 4 hours at a time. When I'm done, I bring it home and I wired in quick connects for the battery to a trickle charger so it's always ready to go. Again, please don't be TOO critical of a newbies work, but I welcome some feedback here! Thanks all!

I like it. I only plan on flying around the house but I would still like to setup something self contained like this. Good job and thanks for the ideas.
How well does your display deal with sunlight?
Nice!
But it's heavy?
