First post here, i've read the top 20 pages but cant find a good answer.

I want to have a downward looking camera, something like a canon EOS6D that I will trigger with an intervalometer (built in or external) so that it will take a picture ever 2 seconds or so.

When the camera takes a picture I need it to send that shutter event to the ardupilot board which in turn will record the event number with time, GPS position and altitude and IMU data

The pics are stored on the canon data card and the log file with event and other data is stored on the ardupilot.

Is this possible to do with the ardu board?  If noy do you have any suggestions for a package under 3k USD that will record nadir images with gps and imu data?

(I have similar system built using an Applanix 610 imu and PCS but the cost is extremely high and it only works on manned aircraft)

Also, I am hoping for something somewhat plug and play, I would like to fly it over Greenland glaciers in two months.

Thanks for any help
