I have seen the Quadrocopter the first time in Hannovermesse and it became my new passion, I want to build one for my graduation project. i'm a fourth year mechatronics engineering student living at the moment in Germany.I'm facing a huge problem in starting with my project; understanding the communication methods between all the equipments and what components I do need,.If there's any way you can help me with your documents or experience about the quadrocopter i would be grateful for that.what i want to build is a four motor quadrocopter with the 3 gyrosensors and the 3 axes accelerometer and control it with a normal remote control with about 6 channels or less not with bluetooth or gps.I want to understand how can I connect all of them together and understand how to program the PIC for the main control of the Quadrocopter and dealing with the sensors.I hope you can help me guys and many thanks :-)...

Good day. .I am planning to build one too. .This post is what took me more interest. .I think I can learn more from here. .May I ask for your help? How can I build one? And if possible I want to do the programming myself or build the main brain for the drone? How can I do that?Thank you for your consideration .
Its been along time since this thread but in those about six months i did some research and Nesh G if you would like I can share with you my humble experience about the Quadcopters :-)
first of all you should know that the quad copter mainly consists of:
- 4 brushless motors (better than using brushed for several reasons)
- And their ESC's (electronic speed controller)
- battery
- Receiver
- Sensors to help it stabilize
- Lastly the brain to control it (which is the PLC).
so for me the method I choosed in building my quad was using an Arduino Duemilanove as the PLC and its coded with C language (you can read about it at arduino.cc)
and for choosing the motors and correct propellers size mikrokopter.de helped me alot it has gd info (i bought the motors/ battery/frame/propellers from them) and other stuff from ebay.
the best place that you can gain as much info as possible for quads is from Rcgroups.com ,,from their i did learn everything.
I cant write everything in details now got to study for the end of semester exams :-s,, but try to read as much as possible and ask me about things you don't understand and i would gladly answer you
Abdallah Zaid Al-Kilani ,how's your progress in building a quadcopter goin on??im currently facing the same challenges as you as i dont know how to start the quadrotor uav project!!can any one offer me some help??What kind of PLC can i use??
how is your design coming along? im halfway through my third year in a mechatronics course and am looking to build something similar, though i'm aiming for autonomous flight... its going to hopefully continue over into a final year project.
