    You may not need a different monitor.  I work on monitors for about the same amount of time each day (writing tech articles) and I get where you're coming from on the eyestrain.  But in my former life as an optician, I learned a few tricks.  Number one, make sure you're looking away from your screen every 20 minutes or so, even if it's only for a minute.  Focus on something as far away from you as you can.  Eye strain happens because the muscles in your eyes get exhausted.  So if you focus on something at a different distance it's the equivalent of changing to a different exercise at the gym.   Also, make sure you don't need glasses, or if you have them, that you don't need a new prescription.  I've also invested in some of those (what I thought initially silly) "computer glasses"  that reduce glare and blue light.  They do help.    Good luck.
