First of I would like to introduce myself. My name is Christian and I’m from Germany but living in central Kentucky together with my wife for three years and I am an instructor for precision and long range shooting.
I fly RC helicopters and quads for quite some time now and decided to step up to UAV, due to immense interested in drones since my time in the military.
I looked around and found out that it is not too expensive to get into. So I am planning on investing approximately $1,000 in a hexcopter build.
I want to use the hexcopter for aerial filming and flying FPV. I also want to use waypoints to videotape my shooting sessions and classes from above, so I researched and decided on using the APM 2.5 flight control unit.
The frame I will be using is the Turnigy HAL hexcopter from HK, which I have already ordered. I am planning on replacing the landing gear with the landing gear and camera mount from FPVpilot (T6-6S9CP). I maybe will also replace the booms with carbon fiber ones.
For video recording I will be using a GoPro camera and for FPV flying I have no idea. I want something reliable! Any suggestions?
As a receiver I will be using the OrangeRx R910 with two R100 satellites which I have already lying around somewhere. This should give me plenty of distance. The Tx I will be using is a DX6i.
As a battery I want to use two in parallel, which will be mounted one on each side of the landing gear. I will fabricate a DIY carbon battery mount/holder. I feel that this solution offers greater balance.
Now here is what I need help with;
I want long flight times (hovering in one place and flying slow circles around the shooting range, using waypoints and automatic return to home and landing once the batteries are almost empty). I also want enough lift power to spare, in case I want to mount my SLR at a later time.
SO, what motor, propeller, ESC and battery combination do you all recommend???
Thank you all so much for helping out a newbie and preventing me from buying twice and therefore protecting me from a fight with my wife ;-)
Christian
P.S. I have posted this post in a different RC forum as well, but due to the fact that I will be using the APM 2.5 flight control unit, and that I want as much professional expertise as possible, I have decided to post it here as well. Thank you for your understanding.

Hey, I just went to my local hobby shop to pick up some stuff for some of my micro helis.
Right after I checked out, this guy is walking in, asking if they buy off some RC stuff from him. Long story short, he had a bunch of AX-2810Q 750KV motors, asking only $10 each. So we tested each one of them and I walked out with seven of them. So I have one for spare.
Because I could not pass up such a good deal, my question is now which size props, esc and batteries would be best for that motor. How I said before, I am locking for about 10 minutes of flight time.
I my need to be more specific about the flight time, I am locking for something around 10 minutes of flying slow circles and maybe 20 minutes hovering.
