Hi everyone,
I am new to UAVs and want an easy way to start. I have checked out the good starter plane guide but it is outdated. I was just wondering if I wanted to make one using a Hobbyking Bixler 2 and an APM 2.5+, what else would I need to order? Any other tips?
Thanks,
Patrick Morrison

Hello Patrick,
Are you new to RC flying/driving? If so, at this time, RC is about 75% of the UAV experience.
By your post, it looks like fixed wing is your interest. You can do far worse than a Bixler. It is durable and will serve you well. After getting the feel of flying RC, integrate the APM after about 25 or 30 'regular' flights of launch and landing.
This will give you a great foundation for understanding your aircraft and what the APM will do for you.
Good Luck!
