hi guys,
I just got my first ardu quadcopter assembled and ready for setup. this is proving to be a daunting task. I have a new spectrum DX8 radio to learn as well :(
the problem I'm having is getting the radio setup, I go through the procedure but still NOTHING? those channels shown on the mission planner do not move at all?
also I noticed that when powered up the compass / gps takes a long time to lock. the artificial horizon just rolls all the time, is this normal? sometimes this behavior carries on even after gps lock?
thanks
dave

ok just an update to my problem.......it seems something on the board is blown :(
not sure what?
can it be sent for repairs?
thanks

i also like to have a servo laying about to test my receiver channels directly (i.e., make sure it is paired, powered, my tx is using the right model, the linkage is setup how I expect, isolate the various mode behavior of the APM) I'm assuming you have the tx and rx paired and powered, and have some led indicators on the rx?
are you powered off of USB? no servos or rx when powered only from USB, you'll want main power for that. Also, did you set up your tx for modes yet? if not, take a look at this: http://code.google.com/p/ardupilot-mega/wiki/Sixmodes
