First time user here, following the guide and downloaded the MSI for 1.2.48, installed OK, when I first ran the executable it prompted me to download .NET Framework 4.0, which I did, and then downloaded the Windows Updates for it. I then re-ran APM Mission Planner and it seemed to launch OK, but prompted me with an "Update Available". After clicking to update, a DOS window pops up and I immediately get a "Mission Planner has stopped working" message in Windows 7. The DOS window will continue to run if I don't click anything, but it generates a large number of failures, and eventually says "update failed, press any key to continue".

The error message I received is below:

I tried a reboot, tried uninstalling and then just downloading the ZIP and running from there (same error), I also tried the 1.2.47 MSI (same error).

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit with the latest Windows updates, not sure what to do at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Never mind - fixed it! I think it was an issue with my ATI Mobility drivers and Catalyst Control Center. I uninstalled my old drivers and installed the latest ATI driver and CCC for my Mobility Radeon 4500 and all is well. Also uninstalled .NET Framework 4.0 Client and 4.0 Extended, and just installed 4.5, but I don't think that was the issue.
