Greetings,
I hope this is the right Group for this kind of topic. Anyhow...
Over the last few months I build my first quad copter. Based on the Quanum Venture Frame from HK. When I had my maiden flight the thing flew great! Very smooth and controllable. No wobble, shaking, undesired tilting or yawing. I was quite pleased. If it wasn't for one rather annoying thing... The throttle.
The quad can barely hover at 80% throttle and when I give it forward movement it immediately starts to descend and the throttle is barely able to catch it. Also it lacks "punch". Strangely enough though it only lacks "punch" in stabilize mode. If I got to Alt Hold it can all but dart upwards(I know, different problem ^^). It feels like the motors are not spinning fast enough.
The ESCs are calibrated, the motors spin the right direct and the props are mounted properly too.
Radio is also calibrated. Both itself and MP. I am using Gemfan 8045 Props. The Quad runs 4x 2213 935KV Multistar Motors and is weighing ~ 1.5KG (~3.3 pounds). The thr_max Parameter is at 1000.
Why I am guessing it's the parameter settings that give me these problems is due to the fact that my co-worker is flying a quanum nova at the same weight with the stock motors (920kV) and his quad has more than enough throttle. Well, that and the fact that it seems to have enough punch in other modes.

there is not an automatic throttle calibration ? i have eard about this but i can't try because my usb is broken :3 can you send me a picture in good definition of the micro usb of your apm 2.8to i kow where re solder what please ? and then i ll be able to help u :)
(sorry for my english i'm french)
My problem that I have is on the throttle and does not respond linear with the stick movement. The quad does arm and disarm but the throttle just stay at one speed and sometimes jumps up and down but does not react with the throttle movement on the stick.
Any ideas what that could be?
I'm using the HK blue series 30Amp ESC and the AX 2810 750kv motors with the HKmega pilot 2.7
