Noob, need help setting up mapping platform

Hello all.

I have been lurking here for quite a while, but ready to take the plunge and next step.

I have at this time a some experience in R/C flying, though I am still a bit nervous doing it. I have been using the radian pro now, (has aileron and flaps).

The radio I have is the air-tronics rds8000

I want to start with out worrying about the photos, . I will add that later .. for the time being I want to see if I can just get ardu pilot working. I have no experience with it however, in fact I can't even figure out what parts to order, or how to put them together.

Can someone please explain this, - or give me a link to explain this?

Also, anyone in calgary alberta that is doing drone work please feel free to reply.

  • Get yourself a $50 Turnigy 9x..   Its easy to mod and getting into aerial mapping you are going to want mod's!  Like 6 position flight mod switch, or at the very least a 3 position switch to control the camera,,  Also, doing mapping you will want long range..  Installing a DragonLink gets you that.. not sure if you can use one with your radio..

You can take a look at my build log, building a plane for just that purpose..

Other than that, Google is your friend!  Also YouTube is an awesome resource.
