On-board data logging access without CLI?

Now that the CLI has been done away with on Arduplane 2.something-or-other, does anyone know whether on-board data is still being automatically recordered in flash and, if so, how do we access it now?

Also, if I'm running HIL, does the above still apply?

Bottom line is I want to be able to log my X-plane simulations and convert to KMZ/KML format to import to Google Earth.  Is anyone doing this on the latest-ish code?

    if you have a 2560, yes it works as normal.

    the 1280 code disabled cli and dataflash.
