Optimum TX/RX System For Video

Hello, we want to put a FPV+Digital Camera system on our quad. We are searching for an optimum TX/RX system since some time but it seems like it will be risky to buy it without taking some advices again.

Our expectations are as below:

1) A min range of 500meters.
2) Not to be on 900MHZ and 2.4GHZ frequencies.
3) Sum of TX and RX cost to be less than 200USD.

We are thinking of these options:

and as an expensive option comparing to our budget:

We gathered these options also with your kind help and now to make a final decission for the purchase we need your help again. We are open to any suggestions and opinions. Our expectations listed above are not solid and we can make some changes due to your suggestions.

  • If you follow the rcgroups.com FPV thread, they have mostly agreed that Lawmate 500mw or 1w is the leading transmitter for video. Although, 1W can cause interference to other tx/rx on your vehicle. I would suggest the 500.

    Choose your frequency :) :

  • Hello,

I have the iftron kit, actually I have their divercity receiver and a few of their tx. It's a pretty package and works well but to get 500m you need patch antennas and tracking.

Also the higher the watts the hotter the TX gets. Some of the chinese TX come in heavy metal cases to provide the cooling. Maybe you could throw the casing away and place it under the prop...

NG Hobbies is very reputable and provides a friendly service. I would gladly recommend him.
  • hi, more comments?

i hope to place my order this weekend.
  • Hello Thomas,
I would like also to have as you "mid performance equipment" for Video Rx/Tx
I live in Europe (France) and I am still hesitating between 2,4 GHZ and 5,8 GHZ frequencies
    I can build Electronic kits
Could you please provide links about your equipment ?
If you ahave already tested it, could you give your comments , and the results you got with it ?

    Thanks and best regards,
    Jean-Claude
  • Hey there, how about this!

  • I am also interested in your opinions. I'm a couple months away from purchasing this, but I'm looking for about what he's looking for.... although I really would like something which would transmit much farther than 500.

    Cenk,

Good Luck getting something reliable for ~200USD. I use a 5.8 GHz diversity system that includes one 5.8 GHz 100mw transmitter w/2 audio channels ($49.99 kit), two 5.8 GHz receivers ($59.99 X 2 kit), an Oracle diversity switcher ($159.99 assembled), LiPo batteries ($20.00), a Fat Shark Killer CMOS camera ($69.95) plus a pan and tilt servo system to track the aircraft (from my junk box). So we have a total of ~400 USD and this is mid performance equipment!

    Regards,
