Would be great to have Phantom 3 camera and gimbal mounted on own airframe. Does anyone here know what is required to make it possible? FPV would be great but not necessary.

Oh, here is someone else wishing this! It would be perfect solution have a Pixhawk with PH3 camera. Perhaps someone some day does it, or brings decent quality integrated gimbal / camera (no fish eye lens) to market.
This is something GoPro should have done. Only fraction of drone users will use their drone but most would have used their camera. Why more hardware as optics and image sensor should be stabilized.
