Pixhawk flip crash after 3.1.5 install

Hi,

last weekend I installed arducopter  3.1.5 on my Pixhawk.  Its  a quad running sunnysky 3108 720's afro20aESC's.  After I did the FW  change, I noticed MOT_TCRV_MAXPCT was like 89, was highlighted in yellow. I set it down to 80, which made the yellow warning goaway.  anyway I did a test flight, and twice (2 different test flights) the quad fell from the sky as if a motor stopped. after reviewing the logs,  I see a mechanical  failure.  my question is the mot_tcrv issue related, also, am i missing something in the logs?

Im not very experienced in analyzing logs, and any help is greatly appreciated!  also attached is the full log, with the crash at the end.3691132034?profile=original

  • Put the value back it is a error in mission planner that was never fixed. Found this in another thread. Mine shows the same thing.
    • Mp wont accept the old value of 89. I put it in, and it just refreshes back to 80.
    • Thanks! I will try that this evening. I flew it today, just a test, 3-4 feet up. Needed a lot of throttle just to hover. I'm thinking it's related
    • Thanks Dave. I hope I remembered the original value correctly! I think it was 89. Any idea how to find that out?
      • You could do an Erase in CLI which will put all the defaults back so you can look at them, Save your current config first and re-load it after.

  • I just noticed my signal wires, wrapped around a ferrite ring, semi cut, due to friction by clean plate on my flip frame. Prob what caused signal loss?!?
  • I forgot to add, it was running great before I changed to 3.1.5. Dozens of flights..
