Following a great build with a 3DR Y6B, I assembled a F450 Flamewheel using:
PixHawk v2 w/ GPS/compass
3DR 880Kva motors w/ 11x4.7 props
3DR ESC 20 Amp w/ SimonK
915 Mhz telemetry.
The first flight was smooth for about three minutes, then a warning beeping while mid-air then an immediate 100' radius arc (left) from 45 meters to the ground at a terminal speed over 20mph.
The second flight was smooth for about a minute and then an immediate arcing flight (right) into a cypress tree in my front yard.
After recalibrating all ESCs, all compass, and accelerometer settings I took the F450 out again today. After powering up I did a range check from 250ft, 500ft, and 750ft using my telemetry link and my Taranis is performing flawlessly. I then checked GPS and had between 10-13 sattellites and Hdop ranging from 1.6 to 2.1, which should be fine.
The flight was fine for about two minutes, hovering around at 1-3 meters, then the copter rose to about 10m, would not accept control, and began an approximate 100' radius arc (right) into the ground.
I've checked all motors, ESCs, wiring, etc. and can't figure what's causing this. The attached log files outline the flights all the way to the brutal contact with the ground.
I'm so happy my 3DR Y6B flies like a dream, gimbal rocks and GoPro is awesome! And, I'm absolutely distraught that a simple f450 is acting like a Whamm-O Jart with every fight. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
